January 17, 2020 Brethren Letter
Greetings Brethren,
“God’s Church will NOT COMPROMISE a millionth part of 1% with GOD’S TRUTH as He reveals it to us who willingly accept it — hunger and thirst for it! When a program of watering down starts, it grows with increasing momentum.” (Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong)
There are some ministers who claim to teach EVERYTHING that Mr. Armstrong taught, while behind the scenes they subtly dismantle doctrines and teachings established by Christ. As Jesus said, “You shall know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:16).
Jude 3 shows that we are to be keeping our spiritual focus on the FAITH once delivered. “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3).
By his fruit, we knew that Mr. Armstrong followed Christ’s lead. That is why we followed his human leadership under Christ. Sadly, there are ministers today who have no problem compromising with the doctrines and judgments that were established by Christ through God’s apostle, Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong. There are shepherds who have fed THEMSELVES with large salaries or have taken on a form of ungodly preeminence (see III John 1:9-11). It is my responsibility as an elder to NOT compromise, NOT EVEN A LITTLE!
Brethren, no matter what men do, it is still our responsibility to NEVER let any man take our crown (Revelation 3:11), and to LOVE God’s TRUTH forever! (Ephesians 1:13, Ephesians 4:15, I Thessalonians 2:13, II Thessalonians 2:13, I John 3:18-19, III John 1:4).
Here are some important excerpts to read from a Brethren, Co-Worker letter written on November 28, l978, by Mr. Armstrong.
God’s Church will NOT COMPROMISE a millionth part of 1% with GOD’S TRUTH as He reveals it to us who willingly accept it — hunger and thirst for it! When a program of watering down starts, it grows with increasing momentum.
Many of Jesus’ disciples, who had learned from Him IN PERSON, and had fellowshipped with Him IN PERSON, went out of His fellowship. “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life” (John 6:66-68). Jesus is IN His Church today. He will never forsake nor leave it. WILL YOU?
Stand steadfast. How much have you prayed so far today? How earnestly and fervently do you pray? You know God speaks of some who honor Jesus with their lips, “but their heart is far from me.” Let us RENEW our dedication to Jesus Christ, the living Head of God’s Church. We need to draw closer to Him — for I now have to WARN YOU — terrifying days are ahead! Let us each do his part in this great Work of God, to the limit of his ability!
NEVER be willing to compromise with the Truth of God, Brethren!
Have a wonderful Sabbath!
Sincerely, Your Brother in Christ,
Gary Liebold
