June 26, 2020 Brethren Letter

Dear Brethren,

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11, RSV).

About twenty-two or twenty-three years ago, there was an elderly widow in the Church who was going through some difficult trials. Due to the age she was then, it is unlikely she is still living today. To get through her trials, she wanted to study God’s Word in addition to her heartfelt prayers. She came to me and asked if I would compile a list of scriptures for her that would be uplifting to read. So, I compiled a list of some of my favorite uplifting scriptures.

Though I have sent this to you before, I am sending it once again for your encouragement. While this is not a complete list of every uplifting scripture possible, it is the list I put together for a very dear member of the Church of God. Jeremiah 29:11 was added later. God has a tremendous future in store for us, and there’s real hope for all of mankind!

Please have a wonderful Sabbath, everyone!

Your Brother in Christ,

Gary Liebold
