October 17, 2025 Brethren Letter

Dear Brethren,

Welcome home! Everyone should be home by now from the 2025 Feast of
Tabernacles. We look forward to talking with you again on God’s Sabbath!

But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be? But now indeed there are many members, yet one body (I Corinthians 12:18-20).

Tonight, I will send a report from the Kenyan Feast sites as compiled by Mr.
Kennedy Athin’g and Mr. Pollycap Ogalo. Please continue your prayers for all the brethren in our Kenyan congregations. Have a wonderful Sabbath!

Your Brother in Christ,
Gary Liebold

CHURCH OF GOD SCATTERED FAITHFUL – KENYA
FEAST OF TABERNACLES 2025 REPORT
Kenya: Eldoret & Kakamega Congregations Feast Sites

With hearts overflowing with gratitude and joy, more than 150 devoted brethren and visitors gathered to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles 2025 at two blessed sites—Kakamega and Kamagut, Eldoret, Kenya. The atmosphere was filled with love, unity, and the sweet fragrance of fellowship as God’s people came together to rejoice before the Lord their God. It was a sacred time of renewal, faith, and thanksgiving for the abundant blessings He continues to pour upon His faithful children.

In Kakamega, the brethren had the great honor of welcoming five special visitors—four widows (Josphine, Rosy, Caren and Risper) from Migori County and one widow, Sister Lucy, from Kisumu County, who came accompanied by their children. Their presence brought warmth, inspiration, and deep compassion to the congregation, reminding all that true religion is demonstrated through love and care for the widows, the orphans, and the needy among us.

The Feast was marked by the faithful leadership of Mr. Kennedy Athing’, who shepherded the brethren in Kakamega with great humility and devotion, and Mr. Pollycap Ogalo, who diligently oversaw the Feast site in Eldoret. Both men, together with local brethren, poured their hearts into ensuring the success of this year’s Feast. Since both sites were in rural areas without electricity or devices to play recorded sermons, these faithful servants of God went above and beyond to prepare and deliver spiritual messages that fed the flock.

Through earnest effort and prayer, they listened to past sermons by Mr. Gary Liebold and the late Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong using their mobile phones, carefully translating the teachings into Swahili—the language understood by most of the brethren. These same messages, sermonettes, and sermons were shared across both Feast sites, creating a wonderful spirit of unity and harmony among all who attended.

Throughout the eight days of the Feast, the brethren were reminded of a profound truth: that while the world measures success by position and possessions, in God’s sight, greatness is found in humility, faithfulness, and obedience. We may not be regarded as “high achievers” by worldly standards, but to our Creator, we are His treasured possession. The messages inspired everyone to keep God first in every aspect of life, to seek peace, and to remain steadfast and unshaken as we await the glorious return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kenya was blessed once again to host two Feast sites strategically positioned in the western region, allowing brethren to assemble in obedience to God’s holy command. The days were not without challenges—heavy rains and strong winds swept through both sites, but faith triumphed over every storm. The brethren continued to worship under tents, singing praises and offering heartfelt prayers even when the rains poured without ceasing. In some moments, flooding forced families to huddle together in small rooms for safety. In Eldoret, the sixth day was particularly testing as severe storms with hail and wind raged until midnight, preventing outdoor gatherings. Yet through all these trials, the hand of God was clearly upon His people. No lives were lost, and despite mild fevers affecting fourteen children—nine in Kakamega and five in Eldoret—all were preserved safely under His care.

In Eldoret, some of the youth and orphaned children had journeyed from far distances to be part of this sacred celebration. Out of their zeal and faith, they built temporary shelters—Sukkot—within the Feast compound to stay close to the fellowship.

However, strong winds and heavy rain later swept away their makeshift shelters. Though the loss was difficult, their joy remained unshaken, and their commitment to keeping God’s Feast was a living testimony of faith and resilience.

Each day was filled with uplifting worship, shared meals, and moments of laughter and encouragement. Brethren fellowshipped together with gladness of heart, singing hymns of praise and immersing themselves in the Word of God. The children, orphans and youth participated in special lessons from Mr. Armstrong’s Youth Bible Lessons, learning timeless truths that deepened their understanding and strengthened their hope in the soon-coming Kingdom of God.

Even amidst the trials of weather and hardship, the brethren experienced the deep peace that comes only from walking in obedience to God’s Word. The messages delivered throughout the Feast continually reminded all that the tests and challenges we face today are preparing us for the joy of tomorrow—the everlasting joy that will fill the earth when God’s Kingdom is finally established and His will is done among all nations.

As the Feast drew to its close on the Last Great Day, hearts were moved with emotion and gratitude. Tears of joy flowed as brethren reflected on the spiritual blessings, fellowship, and renewed vision received during the eight days. Though tents and temporary shelters were taken down, the lessons learned and bonds formed will endure. Each person departed strengthened in faith, united in purpose, and filled with the hope of the coming Kingdom—determined to walk in truth, love, and faithfulness until the triumphant return of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ.

Truly, this year’s Feast of Tabernacles in Kenya will be remembered not for its trials, but for its triumphs—an unforgettable testimony of endurance, unity, and unwavering faith in the Almighty. To God be all glory, honor, and praise forever.
