At Britain’s darkest hour of World War II, Prime Minister Churchill’s “blood, sweat and tears” speech saved the nation. It struck through to the hearts of the British people. It moved their emotions. Like an electric shock it gave them hope. It stirred their determination, aroused a willingness to suffer any sacrifice or privation, that their country might survive.
